Advocates
for
Children's Health Affected by Mercury Poisoning
“...in recent months, these parents have used their numbers, their passion and their
organizing skills to become a potent national force."
NY Times, page A1, 6/25/05

California, 2004
From Left: West Wing Star Gary Cole, California Assemblywoman Fran Pavley, Bobbie Manning, Lujene Clark, Jennifer McNulty – Part of the team that made history by successfully lobbying for one of the first state bills in the nation banning mercury in vaccines.
Six states – Iowa, California, Missouri, Illinois, New
York and Delaware have passed legislation banning mercury in vaccines
for select populations, with Delaware's bill becoming effective January 1, 2006.

On
February 9, 2004 many parents, including 4 members of what later became
the A-CHAMP founding Board of Directors, traveled to Washington D.C. to
observe the Institute of Medicine's ("IOM") public hearing on "Vaccines
and Autism." One parent captured a photo of this sign, placed
strategically blocking access to the street leading to the National
Academy of Sciences building – home of the IOM. Some parents felt this
sign is emblematic of the interests served by the IOM on that day.
